I had a long chat on the phone today with the FTC, thanks to Marc Lesnick from @idateconference that was very interesting and very constructive. Hopefully this will lead to making other contacts that can benefit both us and the awareness of scams in the future.

When it comes to the internet, anyone can be anyone. Numbers can be faked. Email addresses can be spoofed. Images can be stolen. Voices can be changed. Video can be manipulated. If you haven’t met someone face to face, then you haven’t met them.
What can you do to protect your images?
Scammers will steal whatever they can, and that includes photos of real people. To stop them stealing yours, watermark them. Not just a small one in the corner. Make it a big watermark that’s impossible to crop out. If you run a website, add the URL to it. If you have twitter, add your name. […]
