Note: The scam started as a romance on Instagram. The victim was targeted in the first stage with a parcel / gift scam allegedly including an important amount of money. The follow up was an extortion scam, done by a fake lawyer pretending to help the main fake character used in scam getting out of jail, after being found with a huge amount of undeclared money, while trying to leave the country and allegedly meet the victim. In the first stage, the victim was asked to pay fees for the parcel getting released. In the last stage, the victim was asked to pay money for the legal procedures involving her "loved one", with the promise that she will recover the money when the parcel arrives. Needless to say, there was no parcel. The only real money involved is the money the victim lost.

Your shipment is almost arriving Bangkok, we have a concern we will like you to know about.

When your shipment was held by the Indonesia customs and was awaiting clearance, an X-ray was carried out and it was discovered that part of your shipment contains a huge amount of the US dollars. We do not mind couriering monetary content, but we always advice our patrons to please make available every documentation to minimise the risk involved in transporting cash valuables.

There are no documental declaration for the content of your shipment, we were able to go through the Indonesia customs service with ease because of our correspondence on ground, we might not be too lucky with the Thailand customs when it arrives. We have been on negotiation with the Thai customs officials, they are unable to assist with the clearance without proper declaration documents, and prove of funds. They have also given a deadline of 5 working days to finalise clearance if we can not meet the mark shipment will be transferred to the warehouse.

You have to understand that when shipment is moved to the customs warehouse we have no authorisation over it, and we can not assure of its total safety.

There is a last option of flying in a diplomatic official to claim the shipment as a diplomatic shipment with a yellow tag that will enable the shipment pass through clearance without scrutiny, please if this is a good option for you and the shipper, then we will provide you with different officials readily available with their hire prices.

Excuse my late response, the earlier we resolve the problems the better, with the sensitivity of the content of your shipment i will not advice for us to leave it uncared for, for too long, its still safe but we were given a deadline by the customs and we are almost exceeding it.

Your shipment will get to you before the 04/05/2019 if the procedures are started right away. I understand this is impromptu but please its a delicate shipment it shouldn't be compromised as courier can not take responsibility of any damages incurred during transfer to the warehouse. Because of the priority of your shipment, the courier company can award a voucher for you to come up with at least 60% upfront payment, and 40% remittance on delivery. Courier will cover up for the cost and make a direct payment to the diplomat official, this is the best we can award and only made possible because of the class of shipment as registered by the shipper.
