The victim was targeted in a job scam.

The scammers pretend to be the Turkish Petroleum International Company.

The real company with that name was founded in 1988. Their official website of the real company can be seen on tpic.com.tr.

The fraudsters registered a fake domain name on hr-tpic.com. There is no content on the website, the domain name is used only for the email address, as in career@hr-tpic.com.

JOB LOCATION: ANKARA TURKEY.
STARTUP DATE: JANUARY 2021. (CAN BE EXTENDED ON APPLICATION) Employee hours of work are based on the normal operating
hours of the company and are expected to be 6 hours daily, Monday to Friday a week for the (60) months contract term as such employee shall also
be entitled to over-time allowance if employee work time exceeds the official stipulated hours.
DURATION OF CONTRACT: FIVE (5 YEARS) CONTRACT (RENEWABLE)

OBLIGATIONS: The Employee shall render expert Services with due skill and proper care, maintaining the highest professional standard at all
times and will perform such prescribed Duties and Services at the Company premises or other locations as agreed to between parties. The employee
shall render his service during the official work hours acceptable to the company in line with accepted working practices, which is presently 7

You will get (30) days paid vacation two (2) times per each year which can be taken (1 every 5 months of employee work period) with TPIC
PAID LEAVE PERIOD/ TRAVEL: All Employees are entitled to 2 months Paid Leave yearly which can be taken once at a time or two times. All
Employees will receive $5,880.00 USD Take home for each leave Period. Employer for each Inter-continental trip shall be paid USD 3,520 USD
flat rate travel/entertainment allowance to employee. Travel shall be by business class/first class flight, or otherwise if necessary. However for the
purpose of commencement, the cost of travel ticket shall be paid in addition to travel/entertainment allowance. Employer shall also take care of
employee’s travel ticket including that of employee’s family, only on employee’s early notification to employer and it shall be requested by
employee of TURKISH PETROLEUM INTERNATIONAL COMPANY. Company shall provide at least once a year during the term of
employment a return air ticket to the employee to his place of origin.
EXPENSES BEFORE TRAVEL BY EMPLOYEES: First two (2) month’s salary shall be paid in advance once Turkish Working Permit has been
granted before Candidate embarks on journey to assume duty. This is to enable candidates settle all domestic needs before travel. As such no
excuses will be entertained on assumption of duty relating to default.
All payment of Salary after assumption of duty in Turkey shall be 75% paid into an offshore account to be provided by employee with the
remaining 25% paid locally in Turkey. This is in line with Turkish Expatriate Financial Statutory Laws.
NON-TURKISH RESIDENTS: Turkish Petroleum International Company will provide Non–Turkish Resident Employee with Four (4) Years
Multiple Entry Turkish Work Visa (or family Visa if any) with Resident permit and will also bear the cost of flight ticket for employee to
arrive Turkey to assume duty but due to the recent inflow of illegal immigrant to Turkey it is mandatory that Non-Turkish Resident employee
should put down the stipulated security deposit as was stated by the immigration department to enable them grant employee Turkish Work
Visa in compliance with the Republic of Turkey AND European Union Terrorism and Border Control Act.
UPFRONT PAYMENT OF SALARIES: First two (2) month’s salary shall be paid in advance once Turkish Working Permit has been granted before
Candidate embarks on journey to assume duty. This is to enable candidates settle all domestic needs before travel. As such no excuses will be
entertained on assumption of duty relating to default.

ACCOMODATION/FEEDING: Turkish Petroleum International Company has provided a suitable Accommodation in the forms of one bed Room
flat (for single Employees) and family sized duplex accommodations (for married Employees) at TPIC Residential Estate. You shall eat at
employer cafeteria free of charge as there are dietary options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Privacy rights are strictly observed and will
“NOT BE VIOLATED”.
SAFETY & SECURITY: Safety and Security of personnel (Local/Foreign) on job locations are no small issues, and have been seriously considered
to ensure and assure hitch free operations.
All operations on job location are designed to adhere strictly to the Health Safety and Environment (HSE) Policy as applicable in the Oil and Gas
Sector.
All safety wears shall be provided by the Company at Job Locations such like Safety Coveralls, Gloves, Goggles, Helmet and Safety Shoes etc. as
applicable in the Oil & Gas Sector.
ADDITIONAL SERVICES: Recreational /Sports Facilities shall also be made available at the disposal of all Employees with no expenses to be
incurred. Laundry and Dry Cleaning Service will also be made available to all Expatriates by TPIC Laundry and dry cleaning unit.
TERMINATION: Termination without Cause. Either party may terminate this Agreement without cause upon ninety (90) days prior written notice
to the other.
Termination for Cause. Either party may terminate this Agreement for cause if the other party materially or repeatedly defaults in the performance
of its obligations and has not cured such default within 30 days of receipt of a default notice specifying the default and the intention to terminate.
FORCE MAJEURE: Neither party shall be responsible for any damages, delay in performance or failure to perform by either party, if caused by
any act or occurrence beyond its reasonable control such as embargoes, changes in government regulations or requirements (executive, legislative,
judicial, military or otherwise), acts of war or terrorism, power failure, electrical surges or current fluctuations, lightning, earthquake, flood, the
elements or other forces of nature, delays or failures of transportation, or acts or omissions of telecommunications common carriers. In particular,
without limitation, neither party shall be responsible for any interruption in services caused by an interruption in or failure of Internet services. The
Employee recognizes that any such Internet or network outage if lasting more than a single 10 hour work shift may, if Company scheduling allows,
be credited against Employee's vacation time or may otherwise result in a prorated reduction in the contract minimum cash payment to the
Employee.
CONSEQUENCES OF TERMINATION: Return of Property and Confidential Information in the event of termination for any reason, employee
shall return to employer all property and Confidential Information received from employer. Employee shall immediately cease using any passwords
or other information provided by employer for access to employer’s client information systems, and employee shall return to employer at
employer's own expense the Workstation and any other equipment or software provided to employee by employer.

NOTE: All TURKISH based employees are to report personally to our office with identification materials for signing and collection of hard copy of
their contract documents. This is in line with the expatriate statuary law of Turkey in compliance with the UN Terrorism Act.

Same phone number, another fake: yenimoil.com, pretending to be Yenim Oil Group.

One of their potential victims exposed the fraud on LinkedIn:

I also got one today from Yenim Oil Group. Turkey. Problem is that it does not cost them anything to send such emails to million people and there are always people getting trapped in this. Even one in thousand good enough for them. I had similar before from Nigeria. People have to understand that with no application, no interview if someone if offering 30K USD/month, it is fake. who gives you job for 1000/month without any interview? Moreover, no company will ask you to spend money before giving a job.
