I "almost" got scammed by someone from Douala, Cameroon as well. Each one of the messages they sent me didn't make much sense, and the numbers weren't adding up. I'm going to post the messages they sent me starting with the first one. The ad that they have (currently) posted is, "Asian Leopard Bengals". Here is emails they sent me and my response:


EMAIL #1:

Hello,
It is nice reading from you and thanks for the interest you have for our little angels ( Micky , Keyo and Neyo ) , Micky and Keyo are male kittens , while Neyo is the female , we have already given out Micky to a potential family , just Keyo and Neyo left and ready for any great and caring family , they are very great pets and will bring lots of joy to you and your family , they are now 14 weeks old , healthy , Veterinary checked by their veterinary doctor here , and they are confirm healthy and ready for any potential family , who are ready to provide them with all the love and care they deserve , they are registered , spayed and they will be coming into their new home with all their accessories and papers and are also litter trained , My husband and i , we are giving out these little angels out , because pets are not allowed in our new apartment here in 26 Jones town , Cameroon , where we are located currently , that is why we are giving them out so urgent

As a matter of fact , our main concern is the health and welfare of all our kittens , so choosing the best home for them is our main goal , so if you are ready for them then you will have to promise us that you will take very good care of them when you get them over at your place , there will be totally no problem sending them over to your place , since they have all their health and other necessary papers , more so they will be coming over with all their accessories , OK , so that you will not be facing any problems when you get them over at your place , All you will be taking care of is just their adoption fee ($200 ) which include all their accessories and delivery charges ( 200$ ) , and it will cost you a total $400 for both kittens , which will include all her accessories , if that is OK by you then let me know ,

I know that I am 100% capable of providing a very loving home to one of your babies. Neyo the female is very calm spirited and love to be hugged and kissed a lot, while Keyo the lil guy is very playful and love walking around you can see in the photos i sent earlier , from your words i can see you have a great passion for Neyo though we will prefer both kitty's to move into your family together , Due to your message, i am convinced that the kitten will be spoiled with the best of care and love. So the kitten will be coming over to your home with all health and vaccination records, some toys, a kitten bed, feeding menu and all other accessories since i will have no use for them once the kitten gets to your home.

Hello. I live in Saint Louis, Missouri. The closest airport is "Lambert-International Airport" in Saint Louis. So the price of one kitten is $200 TOTAL including delivery by plane and the adoption fee? That just seems unreal because I've talked to other people about shipping their cats and it's about $200-300 just for shipping by air. I would pick the kitten up from the airport, instead of paying the extra $60 for doorstep delivery. What is your address again? I've never heard of 26 Jones town, Cameroon. What state is that in? I'm sorry about all the questions, I'm just skeptical of paying for something online, because I have been scammed before :/ therefore I am more cautious about it now. Please don't take any offense. I am just so excited about getting a beautiful Bengal kitten, and don't want anything disappointing to happen! Please email me back.

After these emails I knew that something was fishy. I got two text messages from a number that they used through their yahoo email account. The email that they used is PETIDAJOEL@YAHOO.COM. I immediately googled their email and douala, cameroon and I found countless entries about pets scams. Please inform people about this. Don't let anyone become a victim to these horrible scams! I hope this helps. Please forward my story if need be!

Then I started getting text messages from::o 1110440602 Joechrest
messages included that I did not have to pay for the puppy til I received it
Then flight fees were 120.00
They registerered it in my name and that the registration place would be contacting me
Then that he would prepare the puppy for the airport and take her as soon as the registration was done
Then that the registration was done, and to let him know when I received mail from them
Then please take good care of the baby
then asking if the shipping agency had emailed me, cause they had told them they had tried to call me

I had received numerous calls, the first one I answered and could not understand them and hung up and they called 7 times after that from the number: 443-636-6195 which says it a MD, USA number. I never answered any calls after the first. Checked my email and got this:
to which I immediately replied that there was NO WAY I was sending them money through Western Union, and as an attorney I believed this whole thing to be a scam.

I was recently looking to get a french bulldog puppy of my own when i came across an ad on oodle.com. The ad consisted of very vague descriptions and the cost was unbelievably low ($250 when usually Frenchies are in the $1000 range). I e-mailed the "breeder" on their website and started to talk to scopejoe@yahoo.com ... he/she informed me that they had relocated from where the original listing was posted about 14hrs away and gave a sob story and said that they were giving the pups away and all i needed to do was pay shipping. Long story short I did my research and found out it was a Cameroon scam. This is the conformation email from the "breeder" and shipping company:

I talked about it with my mum and gave him my address and contact details thinking that I was being too skeptical.

Then I got this email.

The scams and the lies, should have realised much sooner. So naiive. *sigh*

Found a lovely pug puppy from this person Ann Kristin. She said she lives in Sweden (I live in sweden) and she is in Germany with puppies and she is at school all the time and can´t take care of the puppies. She did send all cute pictures and stuff. She said she will organize transport and I have to pay the transport company. I did pay 6000 swedish kronor. But it´was done late in the evening and the scammer couldn´t get the money same evening. So just for my own peace of mind started to look everything about that company. Couldn´t find anything wrong. So they had said there that they send puppies trough Homelife Travel. So i typed that in google and saw the scam forums about that stuff. Same emails and prosedure. I called the American Western Union fraud phone nr. to cancel my transfer and I was able to because the reciver hadn´t taken it out. Thank god. After a loads of calls and telling everybody via phone why I am canceling the transfer, money was back on my hands. I did loose about 400 kronor transfer fee but that was a small amout comparing to the amout that scammer almost had.
