Editor’s note: This week, in place of the Scam of the Week, the Enterprise-Record features a seminar to help avoid scams like the ones in our usual Tuesday feature.
PARADISE — A free seminar that will provide information to help senior citizens avoid becoming victims of scams is scheduled to be held Friday in Paradise.
The Senior Scam Stopper seminar will be held 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday at Paradise Alliance Church, 6491 Clark Road.
The seminar is sponsored by state Sen. Jim Nielsen, Assemblyman James Gallagher and the Contractors State License Board.
According to the Contractors State License Board, the seminars provide information about construction-related scams, as well as tips for hiring a contractor.
More information about legislation regarding home improvement, auto repair, insurance and identity theft also will be provided.
