Scam Survivors has recently started its own victim warning section and has taken on the task of contacting known and possible victims of scams. We prefer to use the telephone or email if possible, but other forms of media may be used if necessary. If you have been contacted by someone claiming to represent our site and want to be 100% sure it was from us, feel free to email us. All staff members (whose names show up in
red or
green) have their email addresses under every post they make.
If you have received a warning message you should try using our search function to see if someone you are in contact with is listed here. You might try email addresses, phone numbers without spaces, or names of people. You may get a hit on any of these searches.
Our basic dos and donts for victims:
Do drop all contact with the scammer.
Do not confront the scammer by telling them you know they are a scammer.
Do not send the scammer a link to our website. They will just abandon their present identity that is posted and open new ones that are not posted, and that hurts other victims.

If the scammer has gotten money from you once, they will try again. That is why we recommend closing your email address or other media, and open new ones that aren't easily identified with your real name.
