What name did the scammer use?:
Kelly

How old did the scammer say they were?:
23

What site/app did you first meet the scammer on? Please provide a link if
possible.:
OkCupid

Who made the first contact?:
I contacted them first.

If they asked you to leave the site/app and go elsewhere, where did they
take you?:
Skype & he asked me for my instagram which led him to being able to find
my facebook profile, too

If they gave you a phone number, please add it here.:
+639169939234

Scammer's Skype name.:
Kelly Moores

Scammer's Skype username (right click their photo/avatar and click "view
profile").:
live:.cid.1c6eab986838c343

How much money did they demand?:
$700

Name you were told to send the money to.:
Ferdinand Amargo

What country/city were you told to send the money to?:
Philippines

How were you to send the money ?:
First he asked me to send it through Paypal, which I did, but then it
said he would get the money after 3 days or so, so he refunded me and asked
me to use Remitly.com instead.

What steps, if any, have you already taken to block the scammer?:
After I paid him the money, on Remitly.com it said it would take about 2
hours for the transfer to complete, so he said it was 2am there so he'd go
to sleep and when he'd wake up he'd check back in with me for an update and
if I tried to cancel the transaction he'd go ahead to post the video. After
he went to sleep I contacted a trusted family member and helped me think
straight, so I contacted Remitly and tried to cancel the transaction, they
tried but it was too late apparently since the money had already left
Remitly and gone to the Philippine's 3rd party company "GCash". I blocked
his profile on Skype, I made sure he didn't follow me on instagram and made
my instagram account private and also turned all my settings in facebook to
friends only, but after reading your guide I have gone ahead to deactivate
my profile for now. Also turned my linkedin account private since if you
search my name on google you'll find all my online precense there, which I
liked and it was a good thing for me and for my work, but oh well. I have
also blocked all the people called "Ferdinand Amargo" on facebook and
removed all links to my social media from my professional website. I don't
know if I'm missing something but I hope this is good enough?

Are there any other details you wish to share? Anything you say may help
prevent someone else from being scammed.:
I can't remember if OkCupid had the feature that for example Bumble has, in
which in order to create a profile it requires you to take and upload a
picture of yourself doing a specific hand gesture or something, or maybe
they should start requiring a copy of your ID to verify your identity just
like online gambling sites do. They really need to crack down on a way to
prevent fake profiles of being created.
When I look back at what happened there were quite a few red flags that I
should have caught to detect that it was fake, but I've personally been
through a personal hell the last month and it was my first time using
online dating apps so I was just caught in the moment.
When we got on the skype video call, I tried to talk to the person first
but "the girl" texted that she didn't have a microphone so we should just
text. The video kept kinda chopping up every now and then and so he texted
that "her" internet was slow.
Also I now realize how dumb I was to believe that a stranger girl would be
up for something like that, we as men maybe, but girls are really unlikely
to be down to do such a thing, unless it's a paid service, which there a
lot of that in the dating apps as well.
Also when he asked for my instagram, I asked "her" for "hers" as well, and
he said that he'd pass it later.
I don't know what else... I mean, I guess I'd say that if you are looking
for a quick release just go watch porn and don't be foolish, genuine girls
will most likely like to get to know you and even if they are just looking
for a hookup they'll still need to feel a certain level of comfort after a
good while of exchanging text and information.

If they posted your video on a website rather than simply show it as part
of the chat, please include the link.:
He kept showing me a screenshot of the recording of the video that also
had like a title of a website something like "bandcam"? Not 100% sure about
that, didn't playback the video, showed me a screenshot of what he recorded
next to my facebook profile
If anyone asks you for money on the Internet they are always a scammer, 100% of the time.
