This person got me to move from Ashley Madison to Hangouts. I'm an idiot
and fell for it. I suggest to never take your clothes off without meeting
the person in-person. I paid the money because I felt I had no choice. This
person kept reassuring me that once I paid we would video chat so i could
see live that the video was permanently deleted. The person gave me a task,
like to make a Western Union account and then would give a few minutes "or
else the video goes out friends and family, and you'll have to get
divorced, etc". It was very nerve racking. I sent the money to Eddie
Lusung, but another name came out I think by accident, Aurelia Loza. Once
the payment went through, I was then asked to write an authorization for
Eddie Lusung to get the $ sign it and send it as a pic along with my
ID. I was then asked to set up a one month subscription on
socialcatfish.com for this person so the person can get out of their
contract as a cam girl. Once this was done the person did a video chat on
Hangouts to show me them permanently deleting the video (still not sure if
this actually deleted for good or not). I then asked for the person to do a
search for the video, which they did. Also asked them to do a search in
their file explorer for it, which they did. After this was all over the
person thanked me for helping to get them out of their contract as a call
girl.

Scammer fished me into hangouts call and recorded what I thought was a
personal exchnage. They recorded a compromising picture and then
threatended to send to my friends and family. They sent me a list of
friends and family from what appeard to sourced from facebook. They
demanded I send 1500 via Western Union. Western Union did not work, so they
then moved to Paypal.

I posted this form information originaly several days ago. I have an update. I have followed all instructions provided on this site - deactivated facebook and all other social media - Instagram, Twitter, etc. I have also made LinkdIn as private as the privacy settings enable. Any recommendations, or guidance regarding LinkedIn would be appreciated. Is LI a venue scammers will canvas and if so to what extent?

I had my credit card company flag the payment I made on paypal as fraud and they have since credited, closed the card and issued a new one. It's been only four days, but I just heard from the scammer again last night. They tried calling me 434-204-0573. Then texted. I immediatley blocked. They then texted from a second new number and attached the picture again (keep in mind this particular scam ends with a "live delete" of the video capture)...as I suspeted they won't delete material they can use again to extort money. The text threat said they would send to my wife, and if my wife and are no longer in a committed relationshio then to social connections. I blocked the new number they tried me on immediatley and failed to take note of the number.

It's only been four days, so I am expecting more attempts and I am trying to stay strong. The posts on this site have been very helpful and encouraging. I am still stinging from this galatic mistake I made. Fell for the oldest trick in the books - yuck!

I did share this unfortunate lapse of my judement with my wife in the off chance they try to contact her. Will try to update soon again on how things unfold to give others a sense of time and other pressure the scammers apply.

Setting LI to highest settings will stop it now, but how about farther down the road, should they look? Best to delete it and make a new one later. Every social site is compromised by a scammer.

Phone calls and text: Changing your number will instantly stop all calls and texts. So, why play Russian roulette with something that can be easily changed? If they can get through, they will keep trying it, maybe for a month or so. And it is one of the steps we recommend that you do. All phone numbers are compromised.
If anyone asks you for money on the Internet they are always a scammer, 100% of the time.
