Some red alerts that I ignored that I want people to be aware of.

1. First of all, the only reason I fell prey to this scammer was that the
person had a trustworthy profile in OKCupid (a site I trusted) and I
blindly believed that he/she is a real person. Beware of the fact that
scammers are everywhere (not just in chat sites such as KIK or SnapChat)!

2. First red flag that I ignored is that they usually have incomplete
profile but complete enough (e.g. a few pictures + a few lines in the
Introduction + a few answers) to gain your trust. Most of these fake girls
are Asian.

3. Their English is generally poor. They will also start calling you 'babe'
or something similar within the first few minutes of introductions.

4. They will quickly tell you to move to different platform (such as Google
Hangouts).

5. They will try to further gain your trust by sharing their FB and
Instagram profiles.

I am stupid that I went through all these steps but I hope other people can
stop at 1 or 2 above.
If anyone asks you for money on the Internet they are always a scammer, 100% of the time.
