Yes, you are over-reacting. Just change your phone number, if you want to avoid any more calls. They probably got it because you have it posted in one of your social profiles online, or it's in a phone directory online that they just searched and found.
Change your email address as well. They rarely if ever email anyone, though.
They will not go looking for you in real life, so relax. Nobody will show up at your door. They never confront any victim in real life. It is all done online, and they are only interested in CASH, not YOU personally.

Chill, brother. :)
If anyone asks you for money on the Internet they are always a scammer, 100% of the time.

Thanks for your reply....

I’m just so freaking upset, aggravated, feeling STUPID, and I guess sorta violated.
I was really hoping you’d tell me to chill out. So, THANK YOU!
I may very well post again about another form of communication that they attempt to contact me with.

Just feel free to tell me to shut the heck up. Ok?

It makes me feel much better.

Long story short,
I suffer from seasonal affective disorder...in other words I struggle at this time of year just due to that damn lack of sun in the sky these days.

This is just bad timing.

Thanks for helping, without judging me.
It’s a life lesson all around.

I really appreciate it all and I won’t forget.

Thank you,

Some good info here. Maybe some of the tips can help you avoid the doctor's office for more advice or treatment.
https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-con ... c-20364651

Vitamin D levels in the blood also drop in the winter for people above the Mason-Dixon line.
So just take 2,000 IU of vitamin D per day, and call me in the morning....about May when the sun comes out again. ;)

You’re a good dude or dudette. I appreciate it!
Been there, in the ER....on all those vitamins.

It’s just not as easy sometimes. But I really appreciate the support of a stranger. :)

Hell, I'm just a nice cut of tongue and groove yellow pine, unseriously, however here is what the citizens of Cicely, Alaska in the old TV show Northern Exposure did to help chase away the winter blues. It just about sums up the path forward in life. :D
This scene is marvelous.

That was great! Haha
So, I’ll go fling something!

Update: no contact yet, most of their contact was very early in the morning-6:15am.

As the veterans in here advice and in their experience if the scammers are unable to contact you they will cease and go for a diferent victim since losing time hunting a single person did not represent money for them and make it more risky for them to be found.

Just stay away the social networks and erase your internet fingerprint like i did, if you are "dead" on the web then you are safe, and believe me living outside the social networks is one of the most liberating actions you could take.

Being able to enjoy each second of the by your own is great, right now i am sitting in the backyard looking at the sunset, is just wonderful

Thank you.
I’ve deactivated FB, deleted my YouTube, deleted some email accounts, some text messaging apps, and am already feeling a bit better.
So far (it’s 6:15pm eastern) I’ve heard nothing today.
This is good.

NOW, though, I’m starting to feel like the blinds should be closed in the house. I know they have my address but I gotta realize that they’ll never use it.
And while my common sense tells me there’s no reason for it I still feel like I’m “out there” if they wanted to.

Just a bit unnerving.

Thanks for the continued support.

I also confided in an amazing friend, who’s not judge mental and loves me like only a good friend could.

It’s not often in life you get those friends.
Shout out to you man, if you’re reading this.

I’ll keep this thread updated.

I guess I could post the fake vm the “police” left on my phone if it allows me to attach??

Med100,

We do not post scammer's voicemails of member victims here. Bullshit threats made on the phone are not necessary. They all say the same thing, anyway. It really does not help other victims find help here, either,

Our focus is on moving forward, and not backwards, and does more harm than good to some survivors.
