John12345 wrote:Ok thank you.

I was googling this scam all day and there was a site that said its a possibility they will post up a video and they showed youtube screenshots of the victims.

Luckily I was looking at legal porn but these videos were titled things like ''David Shields gets caught m***urbating to an 8 year old'' etc

That is scaring the shit out of me. I will post up that web page if I can find it. It was either a genuine sextotion advice site or a scam page masquerading as one

Here is that webpage. http: / / www. webcam-blackmail-killer.com/

Is this a genuine site? I dont want to end up like guys in the screenshots of the videos they have on here

Fairly new site with a lot of bad advice there, plus at the end they try to sell you a service. I saw that site a few weeks back and put them down as doing nothing but jumping on the bandwagon. Another site I doubt will be around this time next year IMO.

I am suspicious of it because there is a true and false section there which says its true that these people can send a video of me m***urbating to all my contacts. I became very fearful then.

I wonder could a fake advice website to make you think that they could put up your video so you will pay the ransom?

I have deactivated my facebook and blocked the email address on my email to stop getting emails from that person.

I am really worried because they used my full name in the email.

Let's get this straight, once and for all ok? You need to pay attention to my advice posted earlier.

these people can send a video of me m***urbating to all my contacts. I became very fearful then.

YOUR scammer is not like the rest posted elsewhere on the forum and what that site is referring to.
Your scammer is one of the ones in this topic, just tossing out a line and trying to fish out scared people, and they have NOTHING but your email address. Got it? If not, go back and read the entire topic from start to finish.

I wonder could a fake advice website to make you think that they could put up your video so you will pay the ransom?
As Wayne just replied, that site is one that offers bad advice and tries to SELL you something you do not need. They are not a scammer site trying to get ransoms. Why do you make up all this crap in your head? And why do you not read and believe what we are telling you?

This advice there is the #1 worse advice of all:

Protect Your Facebook Account

Protect your Facebook account. Do not close it!

If you are a victim of blackmailing, you should block and protect all social media, specially your Facebook account.
Do not close or deactivate your Facebook account. It can lead scammers to use your name and pictures to create a fake profil of you.
You need your Facebook account in order to control and check if your video has been posted online by the scammers, so you can

react and delete it.

If you follow that advice, it is almost assured that the scammer will escalate the scam and post to one or more of your friends. And he will not stop until it is closed along with all other online profiles of yours.

So, just sit tight as you are and stop worrying ok?
If anyone asks you for money on the Internet they are always a scammer, 100% of the time.

so i've been hit with one too. this was sent to my work email address, but actually an older email that still gets forwarded to my main email (the company changed their country/location on the email address). The email comes from 'Hemingway Rud' (instadmin@rulesplay.com). I'm just following advice here and not paying it any attention. the scenario of having a webcam video of me is quite unlikely.

Hi sweety.

I am from the crew of web criminals from China. We use your corp mail cause we know that you will check it.

Few times ago my crew put the virus on porn site and when you clicked on a play your device started recording your screen and activating cam to capture you self-abusing.So I think you realize what content Ive earned.Furthermore, my soft made your device function as rdp with plenty of possibilities as keylogger, parser etc. To sum up, my soft collected all information, especially all your contacts from messengers, mails, social networks.

If you wanna make me silent you have to make a transaction of 320 usd using bitcoins (cryptocurrensy). 16LYKuD2WQ7cwszYcbyzT5CmXLJ78UZUnj

You must use it as usual credit card number. If I receive this sum We will delete everything about you. There are a lot of information about how to buy bitcoins, just read it. For example you can buy them at coinbase .com.If it is impossible for you to buy them in web, try to find the nearest ATM for bitcoin through coin atm radar.

I give you no more than one day from the time you read this letter to finish a transaction. You can complain cops, but they can not find us we write you through our botnet, and ofcourse we do not live in your country. If you want us to show proofs we will show it to 7 mates from your data after that I will give you their contacts. So you will be able to ask if they have received something or not.

If you have some problems write me back.Good luck,$ui$ideBunnY squad.

What name did the scammer use?: Olivia Butler
Scammer's email address if you have it.: sqo@www.lesgardiensdelagardiole.com

Scammer's Skype name.: Not via skype
Scammer's Skype username .: not via skype
Address of the scammer's FaceBook, Google+ or other social media site page.: FB and other SM not involved
What site/app did you first meet the scammer on? .: Chatrandom.com
If they asked you to leave the site/app , where did they take you to?: They did not. Simply recorded my activity, then blocked the site asking telling me I could unblock for a fee. I did not follow up on that.
How much money did they demand?: $300 USD
Name you were told to send the money to.: Send to a BTC Wallet
What country/city were you told to send the money to?: Not mentioned
If they gave you a phone number, please add it here.: No
If they posted your video on a website, please include the link.: Not yet
How were you to send the money ?: Via BTC Wallet to this address: 1NkE324W313KEGap9mJ9GP2YW4fKQtn3xS
What steps, if any, have you already taken to block the scammer?: I've suspended my FB account even though that wasn't involved directly. I've flagged the email address as spam, but haven't blocked the address. I've updated my Mac's OS and strengthened the firewall. I've not responded to the email that was sent (copied below).
Are there any other details you wish to share? Anything you say may help prevent someone else from being scammed.: I left the site as soon as it was blocked. A day later the email came. Aside from the potential embarassment, I'm concerned that my contact list is full of clients and would significantly hurt business for me and my employees. I've not yet paid anything, but am inclined to pay the first amount just to buy some time and see what happens. I hope you can be of some assistance. I'm not sure where to turn. I doubt my local police would be of any help.

Here's the full text of the email...

How r u?

Actually i don\'t care whenever u are perv or not, but some of your family members or buddys will possibly do, especially if you may get busted, that might definitely suk don\'t you think that?

I will try to be as short as i can. I made a computer virus that\'s starts filming the activity via web cameras and collects all information from these devices at the same time, including personal information, contact date and so on, the moment someone comes to visit a specified adult porn website. Beleive you are following me on that one, you perhaps by now guessed exactly what type of a video i now have starring you.

I made a decision to use this e-mail address which has been acquired from your list of contacts as well, because its your work e mail and you will most definately check it.

Ok last one, and also a video clip was edited by the way, the way that i now have you on left section and a online video you\'ve watched on the second, all on a single screen. Pretty impressive huh? O . k let me reduce the crap, if u need me to delete this vid, here is my BTC wallet address -

1NkE324W313KEGap9mJ9GP2YW4fKQtn3xS

(it should be without having any \'spaces\' or \'=\', please make sure).
To figure out the best way to use it, just yahoo or google or watch a youtube video, if do not already understand the way to, really straightforward. 300 Dollars is just how much i need to stop bothering and to loose you footage permanently.
There is a simple checking tool linked to this notice so i will find out as soon as you are going to read it. When that will occur you\'ll be given only Four days to transfer me these funds.

I\'ll share this movie with every f***ing contact from ur computer if i am not going to find my bucks within a period of time stated above

Please think two times just before embarrassing your ass and dialling police officers or anyone, i promise that they won\'t ever find me.

Respectfully dude.
