This same person just did this to me. I will not be sending the money. I'm so glad I found this. They used the same number and name. I should've checked before.

What name did the scammer use?:
Daughter: "Ashly" -&- Father: "Christopher"

How old did the scammer say they were?:
20

What site/app did you first meet the scammer on? Please provide a link if
possible.:
OkCupid app

Who made the first contact?:
They contacted me first.

If they asked you to leave the site/app and go elsewhere, where did they
take you?:
Phone number SMS messaging

Any other social media profile links used by the scammer.:
No

If they gave you a phone number, please add it here.:
803-387-8741

How much money did they demand?:
Pay for a large sum of "daughter's" (Ashley's) suicide attempt
hospitalization and recovery counseling (first $8000 demands a total
$12500 after payment)

Name you were told to send the money to.:
Mrs. Shirley Young

What country/city were you told to send the money to?:
Union, South Carolina (United States) ADDRESS: 208 May St

How were you to send the money ?:
First $300 by Greendot, then $7700 cash mailed through UPS Overnight

What steps, if any, have you already taken to block the scammer?:
After second demand of cash after final medical bill details, I blocked

Twitter, and OkCupid, severely limited my public visibility in Facebook and
Bandcamp.

Are there any other details you wish to share? Anything you say may help
prevent someone else from being scammed.:
This particular catch by this scam artist may be one of the biggest
jackpots made. DON'T be a SAVIOR in the scammer's story!

I had been caught in the typical SMS sexting 'underage daughter' father
call exploitation scam, however tacked-on in addition was the claim that
the 'daughter' (Ashley) had attempted to commit suicide a week after I had
exchanged nudes with her (and to be clear, the exchange was only done given
'her' would-be-legal listed OkCupid account age was 20 — the account was
deleted soon after she reached to me by number. Idiot strike number one).

I was emotionally devastated and desperate for resolution upon this news
when the father "Christopher" called and said she was 16 and in this
self-harmer condition. Though I knew more and more overtime of my innocence
given the 'daughter's' false identity, I did HAVE extra resources, and a
too big a heart. I negotiated to help pay expenses as an immediate plea,
and he accepted ... which I now realize is usually the main course all
along. DON'T LET THEM LEAD YOUR EMOTIONS. Don't let them PACE YOU over the
phone, be rational, and WHEN THINGS SEEM INSANE as they claim to protect
your safety, OBJECT!

I had sent thousands over UPS shipping with the grossest feeling as
"Christopher" directed me through picking up money from the bank and how to
package it, and I asked "why can't I just give the money to you in person?"
— he nervously insisted "it's best to just do this my way" for MY
'safety' again, but I was too gullible and convinced I was really HELPING
his daughter by keeping anonymous as he said, that I complied. This
involved sending the package (as 'he did as well, apparently) to SOUTH
CAROLINA from more than four states out north where 'we' supposedly lived.
THEY. GET. RIDICULOUS. When this happens BLOCK THEM. I was a fool and
carried through this awkward money-shipping process by UPS since I was
being PACED to get this over with!

Are there any other details you wish to share? Anything you say may help prevent someone else from being scammed.: Began talking on POF, said she was 19. Moved to texting, after about a day of texting the conversation turned sexual. Sent pics and asked for mine, I send one clothed below the waist. 2 days later received a call from "Officer Alan/Alex (can't recall) Jackson of the Volusia County Sheriff's Department" stating that the father contacted them about me texting their 14 (??) year old daughter. "Officer Jackson" stated the father wanted to solve this out of court and had previously tried contacting me (I hadn't had contact from any other number). A few minutes later, I got a call from the father "Albert Weeks". Mr. Weeks (extremely angry and very southern accent) told me his whole story about how I was a loser and a pervert and deserved to be locked up, but he didn't want to ruin my life (also repeatedly referred to me as "young man"). He then said if I paid $500 to him via the Square Cash app (after refusing to meet up and exchange cash or use Western Union per my suggestions) to cover his daughter's therapy and new phone, he wouldn't report me. I gave him my Square Cash username and he sent me a request from "his wife's account" for $500. I told him I would need to speak to my attorney first and he gave me 10 minutes to figure it out. 10 minutes later, I got another call from "Officer Jackson" who asked why I hadn't sent the money yet. Suspecting this was a scam, I asked him for more info which he denied to give me. I then told him I knew this was a scam and he responded "Well if you think so, then alright" and hung up. The Square Cash request was canceled by him a few minutes later and I haven't heard from any of them since.

Met this 18yo on MeetMe in Arizona
She contacted me first, then suggested we move to text.
She sent a few indecent photos, and I replied with one, believing she was
the age she was claiming, 18yo
Next day I get a call from Detective Michael Bradshaw with the _
police (706-843-3899). He said I was in a lot of trouble for talking to a
minor.
I argued with him on the phone for about x. Telling him this sounds
like a scam, I asked for his badge number (he said it started with 978), he
said that he called to let me try and work it out with the “father” of
the “girl”
Eventually I stopped replying on the phone and they hung up.

I called _ police (used google to find real #)
Spoke to the women at the front desk and said there’s no Bradshaw. I gave
her the phone number to run and said that their numbers all have the same
area code and extension. The extension that this “detective” was using
didn’t match the police departments.

I then called _, they didn’t know a Bradshaw
either. _ called me back. She said she spoke to the chief
of police and I should file a report in my local town.

I called my local police the next morning and told them the situation and
that I’m possibly a victim of “sextortion”. They have heard the same
story of the “she’s a minor” on a dating site scenario. They told me
to report it to the FBI via ic3.gov. I completed that form as well.

I made a post on _ and had someone confirm that this is a
similar scam.

I was never told to pay anything since I called them out on being a scam
the entire time. However, they told me they would be pressing charges
against me and they will see me in court.

I have not heard from them in a week.

I wanted to spread this info where I could to help other victims.

Almost fell for this one. Matched on okcupid. Guys name mike. We exchanged pics thru text. Next day dad calls threatening the police. Said Mike was 15. Mom caught him making a pornographic video on dads laptop. He threw it and broke pc. Boss said no charges unless I paid half of 1029 for the PC. Which somehow equalled 662.51 ( hey scammers aren't good with numbers). Haven't heard anymore since telling the dad Im with sheriffs office working on spam cases. Haha
