I fell victim to this scam on the 1st day of the new year 2014. I was scammed by a lady called Clarissa McKee. She added me to begin with on Facebook and sent me her Skype I.D to add her for a chat. I honestly didn't realise that it could be a scam and I must be so so stupid because I never usually do this kind of sh*t! I'm so disappointed in myself for doing this and I regret it so much! She told me that she wanted to see my face because at the beginning I wasn't appearing to her on Skype because I was nervous. I honestly wasn't going to do anything until I saw her appear naked on webcam. I thought she was all naked for me and the least I could do is just show her my pen*s as she kept pestering me to show her. Once I showed her this, literally 3 minutes later she showed me a video on Skype of myself. This video showed my face, and then pointed down at my pen*s as I was using my phone to Skype her. Then she sent me messages saying how she will spread it, show it to my family, friends, work colleagues etc. She also showed me a list of my closest friends/family on Facebook. The scammer promised to delete the video if I sent her money through Western Union as soon as possible. The money which was requested was £150. As soon as I realised this was a scam, I called the police as soon as possible who advised me to remain calm and said that they will send officers out to speak to me. I waited and waited, and while I was waiting, the scammer was sending me numerous messages telling me to send them the money, all I need to do is send the money then the video would be deleted, but I didn't reply. Eventually I reported it to Skype, deleted my account, also reported the user on Facebook, blocked the user and also deleted my account for a week. I re-launched my Facebook a week later and could see the same scammer using a different username was following me, so I changed all my privacy settings and set it to the most basic settings. A few weeks later, today, I get messages on my Facebook account in my 'Outbox' messages, one message from a French citizen I do not know and another from a guy who is mutual friends with my family member saying "Mate, why is there a picture of you taken in the toilet?". I am worried sick, I messaged the individual back asking "what video, what picture show me". The police said there is nothing that they can do about it, and if the scammer gets in touch again, just tell them the Police know about this and they will be in touch. The thing is, I'm not even fully naked in this video, and you can only see my Face, then my pen*s as the video was made on my phone. This has really effected me and made me worry sick. I will never pay money to the scammer, I don't know what I can do or should do now :( .

Thanks for the reply Slap Happy. I followed your instructions and completed the form you posted. As you can imagine I'm still nervous. No one on my Facebook has actually contacted me to tell me that they have received a video or picture of me yet. I'm just really nervous because I got 2 random messages which were out of the blue. One of my friends suggested I just delete my Facebook account and create a new one, but is there really a point in that because surely the scammer will be able to track me down? I've already modified my Facebook address name and went the extra mile to change all the privacy details on Facebook.

We recommend that you deactivate your FB account after first blocking out the scammer, then changing your username and picture. Keep it deactivated for 2 weeks. That is enough time for them to move on and forget about getting money from you. Later, after 2 weeks, if you want to make a new one do so then, but stay off of FB entirely for 2 weeks.
I posted the form here: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=17389

I did deactivate my Facebook account for about a week or so after deleting and blocking the scammer and I also deleted most of my pictures from Facebook except for one which is my profile picture. Do you recommend that I make a new Facebook account or stick to the one I currently have? To be honest, I received no such repeats or random friend requests ever since re-activating my Facebook account, I believe the scammer may have moved on. I'm just curious to know what image this young lad messaged me today is talking about. If I can see that he was a sent an image of myself, then I'll probably deactivate my Facebook account and create a new one from scratch.

What "young lad" are you talking about? Someone you know for real and met in person, or some other unknown internet friend? How did they message you?

The scammer may have moved on after a week, but if you have more problems you should make a new account.

The lad I'm talking about is a mutual friend of my cousin on Facebook. He is from abroad, and studied at the same school as my younger cousin. The video which was recorded of me was in the wash room at home. The lad who message me on Facebook today didn't send me any images or videos yet however, he did ask me why there was a picture of me in the toilet. I might sound really stupid, but my after messaging this lad about what image he was referring to, I came to realise that my profile picture on Facebook is in the wash room and he could be referring to that. I'm playing the waiting game now, and simply waiting for him to message me back on Facebook to tell me what picture he is talking about. If I see he is an image/ video of me, I will delete this account and create a new one from scratch.

ok, I was concerned as scammers will often try to recontact you under another name and try to pressure you to pay after you accept them as friends on FB or Skype.
