Hello everyone,

Nearly a year ago now, I fell victim to what now seems to be quite a common scam.

What seemed to be an attractive girl convinced me to take my clothes off etc and before I knew it they were demanding money and showing me a list of my Facebook friends and saying they would share this YouTube link to the video if I did not.

The first thing I did was delete and block the person (Facebook name was Wella Drulo if interested!).

And nothing happened, they did not send it to anyone and I contacted YouTube and to my relief the link\video had been removed.

However now and again I wonder, will this person be a complete asshole and have kept my video, kept my friends list and one day come back at me to try and get me again....or just to circulate my video as I didn't pay him all that time ago. I think im being over dramatic but has this ever happened?

Also, is it even doable? They showed me a list of my Facebook friends but can people send out a message to all my friends easily?

Since it happened my Facebook name has changed and my account is very private so unless he saved my friends list and has the video and a way to circulate it then I should be ok surely?

I know I sound an idiot but im a very obsessive person and need a degree of closure! Just want to know if it has happened ever where further down the line the scammer has returned with the video and\or persons details to try again\just be evil?

Thanks.

The what if?!! scenario you describe has never happened. Blackmail scammers do not do the things you describe. They work on fast money and volume. As soon as the victim resists by blocking everywhere and not talking, they move on to the 200 others they try to scam that week. When the video was deleted at youtube, it no longer existed anywhere. As soon as they have given up on the victim, they don't even give them another thought in the future. Could you remember almost 11,000 names after a whole year?

Here are some links for you to help reassure you.
Closure. When will this all end? NEW! Coping Strategies!
