Recovery scams.

What are recovery scams? Simply put, it's the scammer attempting to scam you again by pretending he can get the money you sent in the original scam back. Scammers will often pretend to be some form of law enforcement and claim they are able to get your money back as long as you pay certain processing fees or bribes. Don't be fooled. Almost always (certainly over 99% of the time) the money you sent is gone and will never be recovered. Anyone writing to you claiming they can get your money back should be treated with the utmost suspicion.

Something else to be aware of is a scammer who actually sends you money. Scammers do not send you their own money. They have another person they're scamming to send it to you. Once they realise they've been scammed, the only contact details they have are YOURS, so you can guess whose door the police will be knocking on. Be very aware of these issues. It could save you from serving time in jail.
