Spoofed and hacked email accounts.

It's always worth pointing out that some of the email addresses you see on this forum are going to be used by scammers, but actually owned by innocent people. It could be that the account has been hacked and is now being used to send spam/scam emails. The other option is that the scammer is using a program that can "spoof" (basically fake) an email address in the "From" section. Technically, I *could* send out an email to someone that appears to have been sent from the White House. Not that I ever would of course.... Now, we're not saying that every scam email you receive will have had this done, but there are going to be times when the "From" will be an innocent 3rd party. Unfortunately, as the address will be what the person sees when they check the email, and that's what people will search for, we feel it necessary to post it. It's something that people need to be aware of, and one of the reasons we always check the email headers for additional information before we post them here.
