Basically, a phishing email is one that pretends to be from some official body such as a bank, email provider or delivery company that asks you to enter in your details on their site, but sends you to a copy of the official one that's been designed to steal your details such as username, password or even bank details. Never click on a link to any official body that's in an email. Instead, type the site's name into your browser and log in that way.
