PNC Bank / Secure Trust Bank - nltrt.com

Unread postby firefly » Sun Feb 16, 2020 3:58 am

This case is of two banks allegedly located on different continents, while using the same domain name: nltrt.com. The main detail to remember in such cases is that no real bank will ever hide their website in a directory or subdomain. They may have pages opening from directories or subdomains, but their main website will be visible without any xxx.domainname.com or domainname.com/xxx/

Checking nltrt.com shows a blank page. The domain name is there, but without knowing where to look, the content will be hard to be found.

The fraudsters use this trick to avoid detection. They will send their victims the direct links for the areas where the content is hidden.

From the domain name registration:

Domain Name: NLTRT.COM
Updated Date: 2019-11-27
Creation Date: 2019-09-27
Registrar Registration Expiration Date: 2020-09-27
Registrar: PDR Ltd. d/b/a PublicDomainRegistry.com

Registry Registrant ID: Not Available From Registry
Registrant Name: Cyril Obe
Registrant Street: 217 Garden Oaks Blvd 0

Registrant State/Province: TX
Registrant Postal Code: 77018
Registrant Country: US
Registrant Phone: +1.7135294405
Registrant Email: cyrilstaz@gmx.com

Don't let those bogus details of the registrant fool you: this fake website is operated by Nigerian fraudsters, no matter where they pretend to be.
