Briefly explain what happened during the scam. : Information I collected from the scammer
- Eric Yejun Cho
21/08/1983
- went to Istanbul Technical University
- stayed in Istanbul for 17 years...
- only child and mother who lives in Coburg, Melbourne. Father passed away at 6 years of age and came to Melbourne
- lives in Ringwood, Melbourne
- says was going to Norway for 6 weeks on a project to install 5g network from Norway to Sweden.
- changed story to say he was on a shipyard to install 5g when he told me "It's actually the installation and maintenance of 5G network linking from Norway North Sea to Sweden"
- red flag when he avoided video calling and voice chats as he was on a VOIP network
- was too serious too soon, very well spoken and manipulative
Did you send any money to the scammer? If so, how much?: No luckily, i came across this forum when i had my suspicions and was saved from being scammed.
- The pictures were a mix from hinge, kakaotalk and the ones he sent me.
- He never shared an email or phone number as he said he was very private.
