My mother almost got pawned by a love scammer here in the Philippines. As usual a foreigner from Canada, "hi" stuff, get to know each other and phone calls. But no video calls. So I got suspicious and advised her to be careful even though he has a complete what's app profile, facebook profile etc, he even have a video showing that he just got off a plane from a business meeting. They got to the point where mutual understanding starts and the Canadian wants to send her a package. Well I got curious and asked for the receipt from my mother.
So basically, I know what a tampered receipt looked like then I looked for the website indicated as the guy say to track the package online. Wow, they even have a fake website that looks like sh**. I know it's fake as it's been throwing me a lot of "504 error".
Here's the images of this so called package that I think doesn't really exists and stolen from someone with real identity online:
Seems legit right? It's an image from the same person holding money and package bought from a store. But let's take a look at the receipt. IT'S TAMPERED! Look carefully at the watermark and the logo and the barcode.
VOILA. What a scammer. I'll teach him how to make a proper fake receipt. But what's more funny is the next one. Their website is also fake. WOW. You guys should find this person, I'll teach him how to make a better one than this piece of crap.
It's a con man saying he's a Canadian. After the mutual understanding part, he'll send you a package worth in high value. It'll be hold by customs as it contains money and will be held as money launder, terrorism funding, etc. The philippine customs representative con woman from Cebu (fake) will ask you to deposit a sum of money worth PHP26,000 ($500+) so you can claim the said package (which I think doesn't exists at all).
No matter what happen do not send your money to this people as their images and videos are stolen from someone with real identity (poor guy), built a fake website with online parcel tracking feature (still suck tho, not convincing), has a partner which acts as a customs representative (wow, nice team work), and has a very good middle eastern or maybe filipino accent and a sh**y english writing skills (you're not a canadian I know).
Here's an exact scam I found on the internet. Same package, same style, same technique, location.
