Sunnybear,
don't let the scammer poison your mind and your life. He will try everything to get you back. Delete his messages - not matter if emails or sms texts - without to open them or to read them. You know already what he can tell you and you also know all are just lame excuses and lies. You reported him. Stop searching after him. You don't need to make him aware about the fact he is exposed. So long the fake identities used by him are reported, other victims can find them and can be saved.
Don't let him haunt you for ever. Delete him, block him, delete everything you have about him on your computer and try to find your way back to a normal life. He will stop just when he know his messages cannot reach you. It will take a while, but you need to be the one who does not allow him communication paths.
Telling him anything in this point puts you in danger - after all, he has all your real life details, do not forget that - and jeopardize other potential victims who are also hooked right now by the same scammer. Not to mention any communication from you to him let him understand he is still present in your life and in your mind and he can play again with your feelings.
Any additional chance afforded to him to communicate with you is a less chance for you to recover your life that he tried to destroy.
Help yourself by helping others - report your scammer here.Google can be your best friend;use it if you have doubts about someone met online. If someone met online only asks for money, no matter what reason, it´s 100% scam.
