I was recently scammed by 'Todd Williams', who hired me through a freelance website to drop ship items on ebay for him. The basics is he gave me the details, I sold the item, sent the money, and the buyer didn't get it. It's stupid I know!!!

So here are the details I have.

Todd Williams

Hello,
Because your Ebay account was used for fraud you should probably go and file a police report to protect yourself.

If you have any E-mails, can you post them here along with a copy of the Header omitting any of your personal information. Preferred would be the ones of them outlining the scam and telling you how and where to transfer the money you received. Can you supply the location of the fake website?

I'm sure the other Mods / Admins will have more things you should do.

Sharhill,

A couple other things. Stop all contact with the scammer/ do not respond to any emails from him, do not respond to chat, sms texts to your mobile phone, or any phone calls. "Disappear" as far as he is concerned, and tell him nothing.

Be completely open with police, and give them access to all the emails, paperwork, etc. All those "buyers" are also victims of the scammer, and the police will want to contact them regarding this as well.
If anyone asks you for money on the Internet they are always a scammer, 100% of the time.

Thanks guys, I have already reported all the info to my government agency specifically for scams.

Also, the scammer is ignoring me so there has been no contact at all.

The other details have are the email explaining the scam. The scam was originally posted on odesk, however I was re-directed to an outside email for more info:

Hi,

Can i have your eBay ID so i can check your feedback score ?
You'll receive the payment from buyers into your PayPal that is linked with your eBay and deduct your payment from there + 5% of the selling price + eBay fees. In this way is clear that you'll get your payment.
After the item is sold and you will receive the money in your paypal you need to withdraw in your bank account. After you withdraw and send me screen shot when you do that i will go and send the package to the buyer and provide you the scanned receipt and tracking number from the shipping company with insurance. After you have this details keep your part of money and send my part of money in my bank account.

Also the bank details I was given. Firstly I was asked to send money via western union with these details:

Name : Dxxx DAN
Address : 14 Goodhall St
City : London
Zip Code : NW106TS
Country : United Kingdom

I didn't want to do it through western union so I requested a bank account, those details are:

Name : Todd Williams
Lloyds bank
Bank Address : 276 Moston Lane, Moston, Manchester, M40 9WB
Sort Code ( BSB ) : 77-19-38
Account Number : Ending 868
IBAN: GB08LOYD xxxxx 868
BIC: LOYDGB21N80

The shipping details I received are:

Global Lines Ltd
website: http:/ /www.global-line.tk

Mod Edit to modify Account number which has been Reported to Authorities and disable website link.

The victim made a local police report, also made a report to country's government reporting agency, also reported the scam to their own bank.
If you are in the UK, the gov't site to report the scam is: http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/

We have contacts that interface with banking officials, and the scammer's account was reported to his bank as used for fraud. The victim's money most likely was not recovered, which is normal in internet scams. Once paid, the money disappears fast into unknown hands.

Please post the emails you received from your scammer here and any other information, to help warn other victims.
Edit out your details from your posts.
If anyone asks you for money on the Internet they are always a scammer, 100% of the time.

Hi there emsy109,

I reported it to http://www.scamwatch.gov.au/

I reported it to the receiving bank (in UK) for fraud. I reported it to my bank and tried to have the transfer reversed, all within 24 hours, but no luck there, the money was gone! The UK banks have no authority to hold funds even if you have reported the account as fraudulent.

Unfortunately there isn't anything you can do about the money. As far as Ebay and/or Paypal are concerned, you sold an item and didn't deliver, so you have to cop it! Sucks I know! But I have no way to trace these people, EVERYTHING was fake!

I hope you haven't lost too much, I lost thousands!

Best of luck
