If they do send you anything, take it to the police. It could be a fake or stolen check they're using. Whatever you do, don't cash it obviously.

Kspencer81,

And if the scammer should write back, just delete the emails UNOPENED. If they call, block them and the number, saying nothing at all about the scam. Ignore any threats they may make, you are not in physical danger from them, regardless of what they say. They do not do anything with your details in the vast majority of this type of scam.
They just want you to wire via Western Union 90% of the money back to them on an overpayment check/money laundering scam. If you gave them your bank details, you may want to call the bank about that. They may suggest changing your account numbers.
If anyone asks you for money on the Internet they are always a scammer, 100% of the time.

many scammers use this format and they change all the time, so can you post the email addresses of the scammer, and the actual emails that you received?

This can help save others like you were.

2nd email, about 30 minutes later after I found this thread I emailed him back saying I simply didn't want a wrap on my car. We will see if that's the end of it or if it continues. Will update everyone if something else happens.

Hello John ,

I am happy to inform you that you have successfully been entered into the wrap program. An expert who will meet you has been allocated to install the decals on your car. You will therefore receive your payment alongside the money that will be paid to the national car detailer(expert) in the mail. When you get the payment, you will take out your first week pay of $520, you will give the rest of the money to the Graphic designer that will be coming to put the decal on your car, They will also be coming with the necessary paperwork. This is to afford mutual relationship between you and the detailer. You wont be required to do any Promo . social media etc..

A check of $1,950.45 will be mailed to you to cover your payment and the detailer's money.

In view of this, please confirm the following details;
How long do you intend to carry the advertisement on your car? One(1)month, two(2) months or three(3) months?
Do you use your car everyday if Yes how many Miles do you cover ?

Also reconfirm your name and address as it should be on the Payment,

You are to be checking your email daily for updates .

Thanks fort posting the emails. Now, stop all communication with the scammer. It is not safe for you, or others if he catches on and changes email address and email format. This will be a fake check/overpayment scam/
You will lose money sent to scammer, and also be liable for the fake check amount as well, and could be arrested if you cash it.
