The victim met the scammer online. "She" pretends to be Jenny Abraham and "she" needs the victim help in obtaining "her" huge inheritance before moving with him. Despite all of the money the victim sent, something always happens and "she" can not keep "her" promise of meeting him. The victim lost already over $100K. The victim's family and friends tried to convince the victim - 73 years old - that he is scammed. On the other side, the scammers are trying their best to keep the victim hooked.

"She" is using the services of a lawyer in Dubai named Richard Anderson, providing a "good service" in convincing the victim that all this is real.

Hi,
Its Richard, just want to confirm i got your email. Please be patient with the situation of things so we can progress if not we will end up losing all the money and time we have invested and you might end up in debt. Do not let friends and family advice or change your mind after we have gone this far... Lets stay strong and confidential, one of the major problem we have is delay from your side, if you do things on time as instructed we will not have all this problems but you are very stubborn and this is been giving us set back.
xxx, all am begging is your co-operation and in less than 3weeks to now everything will be fine and Jenny will be with you as well.
I hate when we argue over the phone and later lose many things, i am doing all this so you can compensate me out of Jenny's inheritance cause i see you as a very lucky man to have her.
Hope to have your co-operation to finish this ASAP.

Thanks
Richard

Why this is a scam?

1. Anyone met online only asking for money - no matter the reason - is a scam.

2. In all the similar cases reported here, the pictures "she" is using are stolen and behind those stolen pictures is usually a man doing the scam. He might have the help of some female accomplice for the phone calls.

3. There is no such thing as an inheritance to be gained when someone having no relationship with the beneficiary is asked to pay for it.

4. No reputable lawyer will ever use a made up fee email address - @consultant.com - massively abused in scams. A lawyer will use his office email address for communicating with his clients.

5. The writing style of the email posted above is typical for scammers located in Nigeria or Ghana.

6. The text itself is the only proof needed in this case - the highlighted part of it.

As long as the victim does not stop the contact with the scammer(s), the scammers will try to get everything they can without caring what happens to the victim after they drained all the resources the victim had.

For families in similar cases, the options left are few.

- they can try to search for the help of their local police , who can provide help and support in such cases, after the family is making a complaint about the situation.

- they can contact the bank of the victim, making the bank aware about the victim being scammed and trying in this way to stop it.

- last and the most unpleasant way is the legal way: asking for the justice help to put the victim under a ban for his own sake.
